Gluten Free Fun

Here are a couple of recipes I wanted to share to make life more fun for a gfcf kid, so important to think about these things before an accidental glutening!

Gluten Free Play Dough

Ingredients:

    1/2 cup rice flour
    1/2 cup cornstarch
    1/2 cup salt
    2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup water 1 teaspoon cooking oil
    Food coloring, if desired

Directions:

Mix ingredients. Cook and stir on low heat for 3 minutes or until it forms a ball. Cool completely before storing in a sealable container or plastic bag.

Gluten Free Bubble Solution (good for bubble machines too)

Things You'll Need

Dishwashing detergent (palmolive, dawn or seventh generation)
    Measuring cups
    Large bowl
    Water
    Spoon
    Glycerin
    Airtight container

1. Measure 1/2 cup of dishwashing detergent and pour into your large bowl. Add 4 1/2 cups of cool water and stir to mix. Stir just enough to combine the ingredients without creating a frothy lather.

2. Add 1/2 cup of glycerin to your soap and water solution. Glycerin makes your bubbles stronger and more long-lasting.

3. Pour your homemade bubble solution into your bubble machine and turn it on. Store any leftover bubble solution in an airtight container at room temperature.

Tips & Warnings

Pre-wet the bubble machine and any other bubble gadgets with which the bubble solution will come in contact. This will help bubbles not to pop prematurely.

Bubble solution is very slippery. If any is spilled on walkways, rinse with plain water until there's no soapy residue left.
